We had hiked 6 miles in the low tide to a place called Derby Cove, near Seward, Alaska. As the tide rolled in, we found ourselves with a private beach and a cozy forest service cabin to call home for the night. It was insanely peaceful spending the evening basking in the early spring sunshine, playing with the dogs, running in and out of the ocean.
